Maryellen Garasky
Maryellen started in the mortgage industry in 1997. Her background varies as a loan underwriter, loan processor, operations manager, and loan originator. She has worked for mortgage lenders, banks, and mortgage brokers. In 2004, Maryellen and Kevin (her husband of 12 years) decided it was time to leave corporate America and go out on their own. And, though Maryellen jokes that she went "kicking and screaming" into the world of the self-employed, she will be the first to admit that it has been a wonderful experience - knowing that she can provide her customers the service and attention they deserve - without having to shuffle through red tape to do it.
Maryellen and Kevin purchased their first home in 1997. The loan officers they worked with were a husband and wife team - Dana and Christine. Dana and Christine were so encouraging, and had such a profound affect on their lives, that Maryellen quickly decided getting people into homes, and keeping them there, was what she wanted to do. And, when Kevin approached her about opening their own business, they didn't have to look far for inspiration:
"Coeur d'Alene and Spokane are small communities - where everyone knows someone you know. Therefore, we run our business with one simple philosophy: if I see a customer of mine in a coffee shop, I want to be able to look them in the eye - not run out the back door."
When not working on KMG Mortgage Group projects, Maryellen enjoys spending time with her daughter, Gabrielle, fine food and wine, and the clay arts.
